This page and its subpages has information on coronavirus Covid-19 which is relevant for the local Eskbank and Newbattle community.
Information may be local, across Midlothian or National.
To see current updates see our Information page for the most recent news and information, including Covid-19.
Requests for assistance are handled centrally by Midlothian Council (dept of Community and Lifelong Learning – CLL) which can be contacted by telephone at 0131 270 7500 or by email at CLL@midlothian.gov.uk They will assign an appropriate volunteer to deliver the help needed. An updated list of useful contacts provided by Midlothian Council can be found here on their website.
If you wish to volunteer to give any kind of help go to the VOLUNTEER page and tell us about yourself and the kind of help you can offer. You don’t need to be out and about, you can also help from home in various ways – we appreciate any offer.
In Eskbank and Newbattle residents have come together to form local groups around streets and neighbourhoods using Facebook groups for internal communications (and whatever else that works for them, e.g. WhatsApp, email). A list of these local coronavirus resilience groups is given here. Why not find the one for your neighbourhood and join, if you have not already done so. If you can’t find one, get in touch and we can help you and your neighbours form one. We hope that the whole ENCC ward will be covered by these local neighbourhood groups – as a first line of response, neighbour to neighbour.
